Creative Visions #CreateConnectCare Campaign


Terms, Conditions, and Official Rules


  1. Purpose of Campaign: The Creative Visions #CreateConnectCare Campaign aims to inspire youth to use storytelling and creative action to raise awareness about mental health and well-being, turn the tide against mental health stigma, and promote the importance of self-care and building caring connections that foster well-being.

  2. Deadline:  Entries must be received by Sunday, May 26, 2024, to be eligible to win.

  3. To Participate:  Youth must submit their creative expression through literary, visual, performing, or media arts and STEM, including a podcast, a video, song, illustration, painting, poetry, spoken word, dance, and more in various acceptable formats.  Specific details about acceptable formats are outlined in paragraphs 8-10 of this Terms, Conditions, and Official Rules document.

  4. Cost to Enter: There is no cost to enter.  #CreateConnectCare Campaign is free to enter. There is no purchase necessary to enter or participate. 

  5. Age Eligibility: #CreateConnectCare is open to youth ages 11-18 worldwide. An online guardian-signed consent form must accompany entries for youth under 13. 

  6. Geographical Eligibility: # CreateConnect is open to all youth, ages 11-18, worldwide, independent of where they reside.

  7. Other Eligibility: # CreateConnectCare is open to all youth, regardless of race, religion, gender, or sexual preference.
     
  8. Theme: All submissions must focus on the Creative Visions #CreateConnectCare Campaign's main theme of youth mental health and well-being.

  9. Types of Expression: Creative work will be accepted in five main categories: Literary, Performing, Visual or Media Art, and STEM. Within these categories, there are multiple subcategories, including, but not limited to, drawing, painting, photography, collage, poster, infographic, cartoon, graphic design, mosaic, sculpture, animation, design, brochure, 3-dimensional project, dance, song, short story, allegory, personification, article, readers theater script, dear decision maker letter, makeup design, etc.

  10. Accepted Sizes and Length: Literary Arts: Short story, essay, poetry, script, spoken word, graphic novel. Submissions in this category must not exceed 1,000 words. Visual Arts: Drawings, paintings, graphic design, photography, and sculptures. Media Arts: Music, PSAs, film/video. Submissions in this category are not to exceed three minutes.

  11. Accepted File Types:  The accepted file types for attachments are MP4, MOV, JPG, PNG, GIF, and PDF. All entries must be submitted through the online form. No hand-delivered or mailed entries will be accepted.

  12. Prohibited Content:  Content must be appropriate for all ages. Inappropriate language or content is strictly prohibited. Politically charged content will be disqualified.

  13. Limit of Entries per Person: Participants may submit in multiple categories. Each piece of artwork must be submitted as a separate entry using the online submission form. 

  14. Submission Deadline: The Creative Visions #CreateConnectCare Campaign submission deadline is Thursday, May 16th at 11:59 Pacific Standard Time (PST).

  15. How to Enter: To submit an entry to the Creative Visions #CreateConnectCare Campaign, use the online entry form at www.createconnectcare.org under the SUBMIT tab on the navigation bar. The entry must fulfill all challenge requirements, as specified, to be eligible to participate. Entries that are incomplete or do not adhere to the rules or specifications may be disqualified at the discretion of Creative Visions.

  16. Participant Recognition Awards: Selected submissions will be shared through social media, art displays, events, websites, and at Creative Visions. Special recognition will also be given in specific categories and will be announced in June 2024.


For Youth


A total of 33 young people will be recognized as #CreateConnectCare honorees and receive the following awards:

  1. Creative Changemaker Award (Highest Award) - $500 recognition for outstanding creative expression by three (3) youth, one in each age category.  This award conveys the top honor, focusing on driving positive change through creative expression. 

  2. Visionary Spark Award - $250 recognition for one outstanding submission in each age group per medium area for a total of 15 awards.  This award recognizes the originality and innovative spirit of the award recipient. 

  3. Imagination Catalyst Award - $150 recognition for one inspiring submission in each age category per medium area for a total of 15 awards.   This award recognizes the power of the recipient's work in inspiring and igniting creative ideas in others. 


For Educators

Champion Awards will also be given to three (3) educators, one in each age category, who have demonstrated support and encouragement for their students to participate in #CreateConnectCare and are champions of youth well-being and mental health.


17.   All eligible entries will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Creativity (25%) - The entry demonstrates exceptional skill and focus within its chosen medium while evoking an emotional response and offering a fresh perspective.
  • Adherence to Campaign Focus Areas (25%) - The entry supports, elaborates, and connects to one of the campaign’s focus areas.
  • Engagement and Impact (25%) - The entry has the potential to raise awareness, initiate conversations, or spark further action on mental health issues.
  • Statement About the Work (25%) - The Statement of Work clearly expresses ideas represented in the creative expression and conveys what the creator wants the audience to think, feel, or do.

    Scores will be determined by a panel of judges with expertise in mental health, education, storytelling, and creative communication.


18.  Other Recognition and Incentives

  1. Selected creative submissions will be posted in the #CreateConnectCare gallery.
  2. Participants who provide a valid email address will receive a digital certificate of participation. 
  3. Moleskine Creativity Journals will be awarded to the first 500 entrants who supply a valid mailing address. 


19. Participation Recognition Awards Notification: Awardees will be notified by email of their selection. Creative Visions and its representatives shall have no liability for the Awardee’s failure to receive notices due to spam, junk email, or other security settings or for the Awardee’s provision of incorrect or non-functioning contact information.

20. Payment of the Cash Recognition: Prizes awarded under this Campaign are in US dollars and will be paid by electronic funds transfer. Prize dollars may be subject to federal income taxes or country taxes for international submissions. Creative Visions will comply with the Internal Revenue Service withholding and reporting requirements where applicable. In its sole discretion, Creative Visions reserves the right to (a) cancel, suspend, or modify the Campaign, or any part of it, for any reason and/or (b) not award any cash recognition if no submissions meet the award criteria.

21. Usage:  As the goals of the Creative Visions #CreateConnectCare are to spark awareness about mental health and well-being, the vision is to share the entrants’ work with a wide audience.  All youth who submit their work to the Creative Visions #CreateConnectCare Campaign grant Creative Visions the right, without compensation, to publish the artwork in any form, including the physical presentation at an event or location, website, social media, print media, or other presentation and promotional methods. Creative Visions or its agents or partners may color correct, crop, or enhance your artwork. The art may be combined with other artwork, overlaid with text, or adjusted to fit the purpose and layout of the promotional setting. Only the first name, age, grade level, state, or country information will be shared publicly with the art and creative expression statement submitted by the participant. 


22. Permission Granted: By entering the Creative Visions #CreateConnectCare Campaign and submitting your work, you grant permission for Creative Visions to use the entry, including first name, age, grade level, state or country, and other provided information such as artwork title, for purposes of promotion, without compensation unless prohibited by the law. If specifically requested on the entry form or in writing by an artist or parent/guardian, any personally identifying information can be excluded from any public view.


23. Rights Granted by Participants:  By entering artwork and content (e.g., photo, video, text, information, etc.), you understand and agree that Creative Visions, anyone acting on behalf of Creative Visions, and Creative Visions’ licensees, successors, and assigns, shall have the right, where permitted by law, to print, publish, broadcast, distribute, and use in any media now known or hereafter developed, in perpetuity and throughout the world, without limitation for news, publicity, information, trade, advertising, public relations, and promotional purposes without any further compensation, notice, review, or consent.


24. Ownership of Work: Applicants retain the ownership and right to their individual work and may publish and submit their work to other challenges as long as the permission and rights granted to Creative Visions and its representatives as listed above remain intact.


25. Original Work:  By entering the Creative Visions #CreateConnectCare Campaign, you represent and warrant that your entry is your original work and does not violate any third party’s proprietary or intellectual property rights. If your entry infringes upon the intellectual property of another, you will be disqualified at the sole discretion of Creative Visions. If the content of your entry is claimed to constitute an infringement of any proprietary or intellectual proprietary rights of any third party, you shall, at your sole expense, defend or settle against such claims. You shall indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Creative Visions and its representatives from and against any suit, proceeding, claims, liability, loss, damage, costs, or expense which Creative Visions and its representatives may incur, suffer, or be required to pay arising out of such infringement or suspected infringement of any third party’s right.


26. Termination of Campaign:  Creative Visions reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the campaign at any time.  In such case, Creative Visions may select the awardee(s) from all eligible entries received before or after (if appropriate) the Campaign termination, modification, or suspension.


27. Limitation of Liability: By entering, you agree to release and hold harmless Creative Visions and its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers, and directors from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, claim, or damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, whether caused by negligence or not, from: (i) such entrant’s participation in the challenge and/or his/her acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize or any portion thereof; (ii) technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to the malfunction of any computer, cable, network, hardware, or software, or other mechanical equipment; (iii) the unavailability or inaccessibility of any transmissions, telephone, or Internet service; (iv) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or promotion; (v) electronic or human error in the administration of the promotion or the processing of entries.


28. Disputes:  This Campaign is governed by the laws of the United States of America and the state of California,  without respect to conflict of law doctrines. As a condition of participating in this challenge, participants agree that any and all disputes that cannot be resolved between the parties and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Campaign shall be resolved individually, without resorting to any form of class action, exclusively before a court in California, having jurisdiction. Further, in any such dispute, a participant shall not be permitted to obtain awards for and hereby waives all rights to punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, including reasonable attorney’s fees. Participant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.


29. Agreement to Rules: By participating, the participants and/or adult acting on behalf of the minor contestant (“You”) agree to be fully and unconditionally bound by these rules and terms, and You represent and warrant that You meet the eligibility requirements, including that the entry is your original work. In addition, you agree to accept the decisions of Creative Visions and its representatives as final and binding as related to the content of this Campaign. Any violation of these official rules by contestants will result in disqualification at the sole discretion of Creative Visions.


30. Applicable Laws: The Creative Visions #CreateConnectCare Campaign is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited.


31. By entering the Creative Visions #CreateConnectCare and submitting your work, You, the Participant (and/or parent or guardian of the minor), have affirmatively reviewed, accepted, and agreed to all the Official Rules.
